Amelia Currier Artist Reception The artist reception for Amelia Currier's show, "Silent Poetry," at the John Ben Snow Memorial Trust Art Gallery at the South Valleys Library was quite the tony affair, as you can see here.
Yes, they've been a while in coming, but they're worth the wait! At this year's sale on the City Plaza, a lot of familiar faces were there, and a lot of new friends were made. Wild River Grille served some great food, the Bluegrass Muscians played some great music, and the particpating artists showed (and sold!) some great art pieces!
The Arts Consortium at the WCSD Community Resource Summit Two tables full of volunteers and promotional materials from members of the Arts Consortium greeted educators and others at the Washoe County School District's Community Resource Summit on August 21. Jill Berryman, Executive Director of Sierra Arts, spearheaded the organization and presentation of the Outreach and Education components of Arts Consortium members to summit participants. Candace Nicole, programs manager for Sierra Arts, manned the consortium tables along with volunteers from other consortium member groups, and helped to get the word out about Sierra Arts' Arts In Education, Arts Alternatives, Teaching and Learning the Arts, and more. You can also download a copy of the list of Education and Outreach programs offered by members of the Arts Consortium. ___________________ Grant Artists Reception and Awards Ceremony An evening of awards, art, food and drink at the reception and awards ceremony for 2007's grant recipients and Sierra Arts' Volunteer of year.
