Meg Regelous: HAUNTED
About The Exhibit
About The Artist
Meg Regelous was born and raised in the San Francisco bay area. Though she had always expressed great interest for drawing and watercolor, it wasn’t until her eighteenth year and her time in Chicago Illinois, that Meg’s interest in art began to take flight. Surrounded by the culture, architecture and remarkable museums in Chicago, a deep and unrelenting desire to pursue both art history and the practice of art as technique grew within her.
In her twenty-first year, in Walla Walla Washington, Meg had her first solo exhibition, after which she returned home to the bay area. There Meg enrolled in art classes at the College of Marin, and has twice been awarded the the Susan Doglione scholarship for artists. In 2014 Meg was chosen to participate in the emerging artists show at the Healdsburg Center for the Arts. Also in 2014 Meg was the invited inaugural artist at the Prince Gallery in Petaluma California. In June 2015 she was awarded the year long Max Thelen Studio residency at Art Works Downtown in San Rafael, California.
Since her enrollment in classes at College of Marin, Meg has had five solo exhibitions, all of which featured diverse bodies of work. Meg’s primary focus is for her work to consist of individual pieces that stand alone while as a whole, provide an immersive experience.
