2014 Grants To Artists Recipients
We’re so proud to announce the recipients of our 2014 Grants To Artists program. These grants support local professional and student artists in three major disciplines: Visual, Literary, and Performance (Theatre, Dance, and Music). The awards are independent of any project but are given instead as a celebration of artistic merit as a member of our community.
This year’s $1000 professional recipients are Christopher Daniels for Theatre, Todd Green for Music, Rosie Trump for Dance, Michelle Lassaline for Visual Art, and Laura Ann Wetherington for Literary Arts. The John and Rose Ascuaga Student Artist Award of $500 goes to visual artist Erin Shearin. The George Hutchinson Student Artist Award of $500 goes to visual artist Austin Pratt.
As part of their selection to receive these awards all of the artists will participate in a group exhibition in the Gallery at 17 S. Virginia St. from July 1 through July 31 with an artist reception on Friday, July 18 from 5-7pm. This reception is free, open to the public, and sponsored by Wild River Grille.
