The theme of this year’s show will be: “Seeds Of Hope”

As the smallest seed can flourish and blossom, so lives destroyed by addiction can be renewed in recovery. Artists are invited to transform doors* into inspirational art objects.

*Selected artists will be supplied with discarded doors of various sizes

Doors will be displayed for the month of July, during ARTOWN, at select locations in Reno.

ARTIST COMPENSATION

Artists will receive $100 materials payment up front. Additional installation payment of $200 upon delivery. Artists will also receive 10% of final sale price of their door.

Please ensure that doors are indoor/outdoor compatible and consider display needs as part of your design. (Freestanding or hang on wall)

APPLICATION PROCESS

Application Deadline: March 23, 2015

Artist Eligibility: Applicants must be 18 years or older, be able to pick up the door in Reno and return finished work of art to address given. If applying as a group, please include images and bio/résumé for each artist involved in project (paragraph each).

Selection Criteria: Artwork on doors should be appropriate for the general public and aesthetically focused on the project theme.

Artists will receive Materials & Installation Payments: $100 materials fee up front. Additional payment of $200 will be paid upon completion.

Please provide:

• Name, address, phone number, email (preferred contact details)
• Bio or artist résumé (not to exceed 2 pages,) listing your contact information and detailing when and where you have exhibited your work, include your website (as applicable).
• 3 images of your work, please include one mixed media piece if you have it.
• Format as .jpg or .pdf (3-5 mgs).
• 1 page description/mock-up/sketch of the proposed door design.
• Doors will be either standard home-size or smaller door panels.
• Please provide for installation requirements in your design.
• Doors should be indoor/outdoor compatible.

     Project Timeline

• Application Deadline: March 23, 2015
• Successful applicants will be notified by March 27, 2015
• Doors will be distributed March 30 – April 3, 2015 (artist must pick up the door)
• Completed doors to be returned by May 15, 2014
